Environment

Touchstone strives to be a leader in environmental stewardship in Trinidad and Tobago.  We believe that supporting environmental regulatory standards is fundamental to ensure sustainable development and community well-being. It is important to us that residents of the communities where we operate are comfortable with our operations and that we exceed the highest safety and environmental standards.

To comply with Touchstone’s health, safety and environmental (“HSE”) policies, we seek to follow best practices by:

  • working with the Environmental Management Authorities (“EMA”) and other governmental stakeholders to guarantee compliance and adherence;
  • becoming the first onshore oil and gas producer in Trinidad to eliminate 20% of all surface release of produced water and aiming towards eliminating 100% of all produced water in the near future;
  • ensuring that applications for Certificate of Environmental Clearance (“CEC”) garners approval for all projects;
  • continuous training for all staff on HSE best practices (with over 1,360 hours of training in 2020); and
  • considering all environmental impacts prior to starting any projects.
